There's other ways to reduce overhead but try these first and see if they help. You can also reduce your cpu load by eliminating redundant fx - instead of using compressors on individual tracks route those tracks to a bus and use only one instance. There are several sites with xp tweaks that could help a marginal system perform better - Music XP is one. Another thing you might try is turning dithering off in Options/Audio/advanced. Increasing your latency should help quite a bit. If you're using asio drivers you'll have to click on the asio panel and adjust it there. If you're using wdm drivers you can doit with the slider - slide it to the right. First, go to Options/Audio/General and increase your latency. There's a couple of things you might try that won't cost anything and may help. This never happend with sonar 4, and i don't even run fl with it no more so it seems like it should have only improved performance if anything.Īny feedbak good or bad on this is cool, anything helps. I push play and the cpu meter flys up 90% and it freezes. I upgraded to sonar 6, cutt fl studio out, but it seems to be overloaded by cpu and i cant do anything, even with 1 vst plugin loaded. I usualy use sonar 4, load up alotta stuff in it, even run it w. I have a gatway pentium 4/80 gb memory/not sure of ram. See, im pretty new so i hope i don't get laughed at to much.
